City of St. Albans Set to Flip the Switch on 2019 St. Albans Festival of Lights

St. Albans Festival of Lights Set to Open 2019

ST. ALBANS, WV, NOV. 4, 2019 — The City of St. Albans is all set to continue a long-standing holiday tradition of their annual Christmas Lights display throughout St. Albans City Park.   This year’s Festival of Lights begins on November 26th with a walk-through event, followed by Free Hayrides on November 27th, before it’s official open for car traffic, 6 pm – 9 pm nightly, on November 29th.

“We’re excited for this year’s Festival of Lights,” says Kevin Pennington, St. Albans City Park Superintendent. “We’re bringing back some of the favorite displays from the past, plus we’ll have new displays.”

Visitors to this mostly hand-made display can enjoy the sights and even sounds of the holiday season with the chance for the kids to sit and share their Christmas wish list with Santa Claus.

One of the most successful events for the City of St. Albans, the Festival of Lights, hosts an estimated 50,000 visitors a year, and always brings back fond, family memories from both long-standing area residents and those that have moved away returning for the holidays.

Although this event is free and open to the public, visitors are encouraged to make either monetary or non-perishable food donations to support the lights and local churches and non-profit food banks.   All proceeds from donations are used to fund the festival with new displays and operating costs, as well as helping local churches and non-profit food banks feed those in need during the holiday season.

Walk Through the Lights – November 26  — 6 pm -8 pm
Special preview night open to foot traffic only.
