St. Albans Festival Of Lights Set To Continue Family Holiday Tradition

St. Albans Festival of Lights Set to Open 2020

ST. ALBANS, WV, NOV 11, 2020 – Despite a year of uncertainties, event cancellations, and social distancing, the City of St. Albans is set to light up St. Albans City Park with their well-known, long-standing holiday tradition, the St. Albans Festival of Lights in St. Albans City Park. Opening night is set for November 27th at 6 pm.

For more than 30 years, the St. Albans Parks & Recreation crew has brought holiday magic and joy to visitors with their hand-crafted Christmas and holiday-themed light displays. Boasting nearly 50,000 visitors a year, the St. Albans Festival of Lights has become one of the best Christmas and holiday lights display in the Tri-State region as well as one of the longest-running drive-thru Christmas lights display in the Charleston and Huntington area.

“Our parks department crew is hard at work building several new displays this year and we’re giving major facelifts to some of our long-standing favorites,” says Parks Superintendent Kevin Pennington.

Things may look a little different this year with the absence of Santa, hot chocolate, and cookies at the top of the hill, a favorite stop for kids of all ages that visit the lights. However, this year’s event will provide a sense of normalcy and hope in an otherwise season of uncertainty.
